Tips
- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.
You are welcome to continue editing anonymously, but you may want to create an account, since there are many benefits.
Happy editing! Cheers, Aza24 (talk) 23:23, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for your note on my talk page, I've responded there. Aza24 (talk) 23:31, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

editDo not use multiple IP addresses to disrupt Wikipedia, like you did at Bring Me to Life. Such attempts to avoid detection, circumvent policies or evade blocks or sanctions will not succeed. You are welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, but your recent edits have been reverted or removed. If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Block evasion by User:Jfgoofy. Binksternet (talk) 21:10, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hello there.
- I do express your concerns about block evasion but I would like to clear things up about this.
- While yes that is my former account made when I was a child (Which arguably was a lot worse in terms of behavior), I do not have any intent on evading blocks of any kind and I have matured and moved on from my past behavior since then. My IP address keeps changing for reasons I am unsure about (I suspect that it's the routers being changed in our household, but I have no control over that), and I have took a break from Wikipedia for a couple years from my first account. I have been thinking about making a reformed account via WP:CLEANSTART.
- And yes, I can see why my edit to Bring Me to Life was considered disruptive. Although that detail was stated in the article itself, it probably didn't need to be brought up within the section I had edited. Another article involving an Evanescence song had the same detail brought up, which is the reason why I wanted to insert that detail in the first place. Probably not the best decision, but I understand how you probably took that as disruptive.
- Take care. 71.59.205.114 (talk) 21:35, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- You're still not allowed to edit Wikipedia as a blocked user. Patachonica (talk) 01:56, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
- Wait I'm not? But that account has been a decade old, and I created it when I was a young child.
- So what I'm getting here is that, my past actions as a child affect me to the present? 71.59.205.114 (talk) 02:01, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
- See WP:Block evasion Patachonica (talk) 02:03, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
- I just finished reading it and I still don't understand how that's supposed to be answer my question. Not to be rude here but I genuinely do not know why this count as 'evasion' when I simply want to rid myself of my past experiences and start fresh. Like what is the difference exactly? 71.59.205.114 (talk) 02:12, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
- Editing while logged out of your original account (blocked or not) is a clear violation of WP:SOCK. Patachonica (talk) 02:15, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
- So basically I can't restart an account, even if I wanna restart with good intent. I can't get a repeal an old account because of past actions I did when I was 12 years old that I most certainly regret and should be a long distant memory (in fact i even forgot almost entirely what I did back then). And editing anonymously is considered a sockpuppet.
- Well then.. I am so sorry to waste your time then. As much as I like to help the website in minor ways, I guess even with this I'm pretty much doomed to be punished then. 71.59.205.114 (talk) 02:23, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
- If you want your original account to be unblocked, please see the WP:GAB Patachonica (talk) 02:28, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you, I will check it out when I can. Though to be honest I do not recall my password or the email that was used for it, so it might be harder for me to actually do it but I'll try and see what I can do.
- My apologies for editing anonymously, I will remain quiet on this account following this. I genuinely had no idea I was sockpuppeting, but I appreciate it nonetheless. Even if I do get banned for this, I still want to express my gratitude for at least trying to help the website even if it's something you didn't know was against the rules. 71.59.205.114 (talk) 02:32, 23 July 2022 (UTC)

- I sympathize with your situation. I have asked about it on WP:ANI, to see what can be done. Most commenters are supportive. I also see you made an unblock request. Binksternet (talk) 14:30, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
