Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Setuid. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 14:52, 14 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

To User:Drmies: Your ideas a valid instance of gatekeeping is not a valid justification for disrupting others' edits. WP:OWNERSHIP documents an editing pattern to avoid—not a suggestion of something to do. You may be an experienced Wikipedian, but that doesn't mean your actions are correct by virtue of your being the one who's doing them. (In fact, your history should mean that you know better than this.) Please refer, in addition to the relevant Wikipedia guidelines which you should already be well aware of, to meta:wiki and meta:the wiki way. Note that this incident is also reported on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring.

Side note: trying to stretch the definition of vandalism so you can use a vandalism notice template here is also intellectually dishonest (if not just outright "dishonest"). 66.90.149.252 (talk) 15:47, 14 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Why put "dishonest" in scare quotes? Tell us how you really feel. Anyway, I trust you won't need my input on your ANEW report--enjoy. As for that article edit: all you have to do is explain what you are doing and why. Thousands, millions, kazillions of users manage to do that on a regular basis. I don't think you understand scare quotes. 66.90.149.252 (talk) 15:56, 14 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
