Title of the references and notes section edit

Editors are free to choose from various common terms for the section name of the references section. Please don't change the name of the section containing the references if the title is generally accepted and in common usage, such as "References" or "Notes" (and various other terms listed at MOS:NOTES) as you did in this edit at Gweagal, merely to suit your own personal preference; especially if the section title has been that way for a long time. Pointless changes to section title white space edit

Please stop making changes to white space that have no effect on the rendered page, such as spaces around section titles, as you did here and here at Gweagal, merely to suit yourself. This is a violation of MOS:VAR. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 23:14, 24 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Pointless changes to references and templates edit

Please stop making pointless changes to references and templates, such as changing Template capitalization, adding or removing hyphens or changing one valid citation param alias to another, or altering embedded white space, as you did here at Gweagal that have no effect on the rendered page, merely to suit yourself. This is a violation of WP:CITEVAR. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 23:33, 24 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Retaining existing style: refs, efns, and NoteTags edit

Please stop altering <ref> tags and or other tags to {{efn}} or {{NoteTag}} merely to enforce your personal preference, as you did in this edit at Gweagal.

The choice of how to add explanatory notes that are not citations to sources is up to the editor, and governed by WP:CITEVAR and MOS:STYLERET. The Arbitration Committee has ruled numerous times that this is inappropriate.

"When either of two styles are [sic] acceptable it is inappropriate for a Wikipedia editor to change from one style to another unless there is some substantial reason for the change."[4] If you believe an alternative style would be more appropriate for a particular article, discuss this at the article's talk page or – if it raises an issue of more general application or with the MoS itself – at the MoS talk page.

But given your edits using another IP address, 101.187.83.6 (talk · contribs), you know this already. Please stop. Mathglot (talk) 00:43, 25 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Examining the history of your edits, almost all of them fit the pattern noted above and have been removed. Many of them were undone or rolled back by several editors previously. I've reverted the remainder, retaining your occasional good edits, notably using {{Reflist}} instead of the deprecated version using the em width param, and the occasional {{Further}} or {{About}} section top link instead of {{Main}}, or vice versa.
