Nomination edit

2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk · contribs) Let's be real. We all want this IP to be Bureaucrat even though this person doesn't even want to register an account. WP:IAR states that If a rule prevents you from improving or maintaining Wikipedia, ignore it. so this meets the criteria for IAR, it works. {{SUBST:replyto|Can I Log In}}PLEASE copy and paste the code to reply(Talk) 03:09, 1 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Questions for the candidate edit

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an bureaucrat. Please answer these questions to provide guidance for participants:

1. Have you read the discussions on when to promote and not promote? What do you understand the criteria for promotion to be?
A: I only read under duress, or when internet service fails. However, I can state with confidence that promotion is appropriate unless it is not. At that time, promotion should be eschewed, preferably with a side dish. All other criteria are faulty, by default. It's no one's fault. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 3:40, April 1, 2020 (UTC)
2. How would you deal with contentious nominations where a decision to promote or not promote might be criticized?
A: I hate criticism, because so often it seems to be justified. So I'd wait to see what everyone else thinks, then take a nap. Not a long one, just a refresher. Upon awakening, I'd have forgotten about the whole sordid business, which happens anyway given my age. By then it's time for dinner and a drink. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 3:40, April 1, 2020 (UTC)
3. Wikipedians expect bureaucrats to adhere to high standards of fairness, knowledge of policy and the ability to engage others in the community. Why do you feel you meet those standards?
A: I meet none of those standards, and am repeatedly surprised when anyone does. But if pressed into service, I would endeavor to fairness of judgment, with extraordinary fairness given to those offering financial incentives; I would pretend to have an encyclopedic knowledge of policy, because maybe 20 % of my colleagues would see through me, and that's worth the gamble, percentage wise; and I would not seek to engage the community, but would, in the interest of propriety, propose engagement to one fortunate person at a time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 3:40, April 1, 2020 (UTC); edited —Preceding undated comment added 3:59, April 1, 2020
