Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:List of Hail Mary passes in American football, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. - Hi 214.26.77.245, the thing is you shouldn't really be making any changes; grammar and spelling changes are just what the template mentions specifically. Editing comments to illustrate your point is definitely not OK.

I presume you also sent this same message to the user with the IP of 62.96.234.7. As for signing, its always automatically put the IP in the past. Did something change with that?
- I didn't realize that they also edited your comment, but I just left them a note. Sinebot does automatically sign some comments with this template, but a lot of pages don't have that enabled, making it a good idea to get into the habit of signing manually :). aboideautalk 13:41, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
The page does have it enabled as its done it in the past. That is a problem with Wikipedia then, not mine.

That article has been locked since at least Feb. How could I have made any changes to it?
