Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did with this edit to Alfred Corn, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. User talk space off-limits

edit

User:Freewayguy, per the circumstances of your block, and per the continued exasperation of the community, I'm notifying you that you are not to edit user talk space any further. To other users who may read this: I apologize for the tone of this message that you've unwittingly stepped in to. Such are the perils of shared computers. May I suggest that you register an account if you're interested in editing? It's free to set up and confers substantially more privacy than "anonymous" editing. — Lomn 18:26, 15 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why making an new account. i thought I am not suppose to touch any articles what is the point to even signing in. yes, part of block is I always solicite users. The Rf desk people do check for questions every few minutes sometimes it take days to answers. nobody is on Wiki 24-7 we all need some sleep, and they have different time zones. yes with people like Deathboy (talk · contribs) i understood the seriousness to community of what I've done on Wikicommons, I am even afraid to look at it and it will never ever ever happen again. And at Diamond Bar just a middle school what happen to user cause the school to shutdown for a day and those people end up their life in jail. I've learn this long time ago when similar thing happen to me and I was very lucky i didn't get myself in jail I was warn not to do the danger harms again and my dad was bickering at me the whole week when he found out the case. it is too history to talk about this because it happen too long ago, i can't undo myself by that farr back.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 21:17, 26 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Could I still try again several month later but not soon. I know the danger this not only cause the Wikicommuity but it also cause the whole society enviornment. My sister was heartbroken to hear I've made those various dangers I've made when police actually came to my school. This is tough to overcover from these act, and this i don't know how long it will take for wikicommunity to be forgotten. I will never do those things again in my life. The best is probably to shorten block to at least anohter year at some point.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 21:28, 26 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
As this address is registered to the California State University system, the "why not create an account" statement is for other users who may find themselves blocked on account of your actions. — Lomn 22:08, 26 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
But I thought my block have to be lift first on my user account. to continue working on Wiki. I thought I'm not suppose to touch any articles at the time being.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 17:49, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
This makes no snese to me and is not acceptable. All I have to do is to post it on science desk and that is that simple. Just don't worry, don't worry, don't worry. people will get to it, or I can actually google it myself and I might find something useful. I never know unless I try.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 21:43, 26 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Per continued block violations, this address has been blocked for two weeks. — Lomn 20:04, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
The sources is valid. Scotes'e map is not complete. This source is valid too. You keep hounding me after I make changes to planet's sky articles though science desk gives wrong answers sometimes, i've learnt never to trust science desks. Changes to Pangaea is not dubios, it's from a valid source publish.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 20:29, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
You are not permitted to edit Wikipedia, period. The other concerns are peripheral, and until you understand this key point, I see no need to confuse the issue by addressing them. We've generally left the Reference Desk open to you, but you may not edit Wikipedia articles under any circumstances unless and until the block on User:Freewayguy is lifted. — Lomn 20:39, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I do understand the sourcings now. How to ask for my block account to lift block and when I can? My talk page is protect. Sourcing is to have information focus cite what is said on article, I have succeed at this point. That's what my changes show.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 20:47, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sourcing is not the issue. Our chief concern is with the threats you scattered across numerous Wikimedia projects. Next, your refusal to respect the block means we can't trust promises to avoid such threats in the future. Eventually, we come back to sourcing and the quality of edits that started this whole mess. At that point, I conclude that you still don't understand sourcing. You link above to an image search result, claiming that "it's a valid source too". It is no such thing. Similarly, your Pangaea edits replace textual references with animations of uncertain quality, requiring extrapolation of their content. You justify these edits by claiming that "Scotes'e map is not complete" while ignoring that the NY Times animation is sourced exclusively by Scotese. Given your poor track record with references (extensively documented and continued even here), I prefer the previous interpretations of the sources at hand. However, I reiterate, sourcing is not the issue at hand. — Lomn 21:39, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
This is not right. Pangaea means single continents one ocean only. Obviously ther will still be ocean between Americans Asias and Australia-Antartica.[1] Obviously this does not make sense. Animation makes sense, since all the continents is connect together.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 19:40, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Further edits to articles, unless and until your block at User:Freewayguy is lifted, will result in more blocks of extended duration, including a prohibition on Ref Desk editing if necessary. I see no need to post further here until the current block ends. — Lomn 02:17, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Will this still be possilbe to lift block if I stop violating the WP:BP? Will wait for many month work?--209.129.85.4 (talk) 19:36, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

User talk, again

edit

As noted above, your ban from Wikipedia includes user talk space, particularly unsolicited accusations like this one. Do not repeat contributions of this nature. I'm skipping the block as you've already retracted, but you've been instructed not to do this in the first place. — Lomn 15:36, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Oops, I will stronly try not to do that, we all make mistakes sometimes I just didn't know it. I do know many users is volunteers, they try to help others and me. Alot of what I say is impossible is me who is wrong. They told me earlier what I originally said about white man and black women to be only 1/10 I was very wrong, look at this there is over 30 mating games like this they post. I still don't understand the source yet, so unblock on my account probably forget it by now. Alot of times I am just thinking things--209.129.85.4 (talk) 21:33, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Finding a source just takes patience. If I want to know how Amasia might look at, this tells me.I have to learn to do this to exercise my literacy skills to make my english improve.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 21:53, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
This I don't even have to ask the science desks. This seems intersting and straight-foward.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 21:58, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why signing a account?

edit

But the thing is my old user account have a block so what is the point to make a new account if I can only do info desk only. What else can I do if I make a account? People have been asking me to sign in with account even when I am at home when I ask questions on info desk in January. Could I practice my english commands on my userspace plus fixing my past grammar error examples?--209.129.85.4 (talk) 20:52, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

No. The account creation suggestion is for other people who may share this computer. — Lomn 22:06, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
This isn't me it is somebody else. I don't know who did it I don't think I'll ever find out who did it. Is this just schools in portions of orange county or is this IP all across orange county?--209.129.85.4 (talk) 21:40, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
The IP address block is registered to "California State University Network" and contains around 65,000 individual addresses. The WHOIS information states that addresses within the block are "non-portable", which indicates to me that the same physical computer keeps the IP address. You could possibly verify this with the university IT department.
I'm not sure why you need to use a Wikipedia user page to practice English. Aren't there any free or low-cost courses in your area where you can get expert help? Or other websites dedicated to helping people improve their English? Franamax (talk) 22:38, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
My user accounts have been block for time being. I'm leftover with information desk only. I am not allow to contribute any articles until my block on my account (seen above) have been lift. Mainly my block is adding wrong informations to articles and extrapoliating sources by inferring unknown data into known.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 20:41, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well from what I can see, your user account was blocked for behaviour that we simply do not tolerate here. You still being allowed to ask questions at the RefDesks is just people here being nice to you. I realize that you deeply regret what you did in the past, but I still don't see any indication that you would be able to contribute constructively if your restrictions were lifted and no-one else seems to think that either. I will try to help you find good places to improve your skills with English language in your local area if you wish. Wikipedia is not the place to practice though. I won't remove any restrictions on your editing here, you are very lucky that people are nice enough to let you keep participating at the RefDesks. Franamax (talk) 21:02, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
If have thought about consequence the first place then my block might have been over by now. By this I've got to meet the orange county police once, my teachers and my psycholigst was involve in school for my actions. My dad was contact and he was mad at me for several weeks. Rschen said this would be few years if at all until I can even come back to normal.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 21:21, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
I will break a lot of rules here and probably get in trouble for it, but here is my personal advice: stop watching a computer and walk outside. Be part of your community. Participate in a shoreline cleanup or a bird survey or help to create a community garden. You will be talking to people, improving your language skills, and making a better world. If you do those things well I'll bet your father will start saying much nicer things and we might have to start writing about you in our artcles! That's just my own advice, Wikipedia is not the whole planet, Wikipedia is just the place where we describe the people who actually live there. Franamax (talk) 21:49, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
To the user who knows he is banned from using Wikipedia (all others using this IP address may ignore this): When you are banned from using Wikipedia, you are banned from using Wikipedia. Your account is not banned. You are banned. Using an IP address is not allowed. Your questions will be removed on sight. -- kainaw 01:36, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
But this isn't bad question. [2] lomn said I can still use to info desk, so I won't mess up articles he even said earlier we left the info desk open for me.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 20:56, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
I said that I personally wouldn't prohibit you from using the RefDesk, but noted that any other user was free to impose that prohibition at any time. It appears that has happened, and I have no plans to contest it. — Lomn 21:00, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
The usual definition of recession is when GDP falls for two consecutive quarters. Once GDP goes up again, the "recession" is over. OK - so what is "GDP"? Well, it is the market value of all final goods and services made within the borders of a country in a year. So the recession starts when we make less stuff in this six months than we did before...and it's over when we start making more stuff. OR it happens when we make the same amount of 'stuff' but it's worth less for some reason.

Let's pick a ridiculously simple example: If a country exists by growing and harvesting bananas (say) and absolutely nothing else - and there is a terrible blight and only half the number of bananas grow - then it experiences a recession because it's making less 'stuff'. But if everyone who buys their bananas get kinda sick of them and crave pineapples instead - then there will be a drop in the value of bananas and they'll be in a recession despite harvesting just as many bananas as they ever did. So how do jobs get mixed up in this? Well, if you don't have so many bananas to harvest, you don't need so many people to do the work - so you fire half of them. When the banana blight is over, the recession ends and you hire them back. But if the value of your bananas drops - you still need just as many people to harvest them - but you can't afford to pay those people. So what do you do? Maybe you fire half of the staff and make the other half work twice as hard (or for less money or something). That saves you enough money that you can stay afloat. When people fancy eating bananas again, your market value booms - GDP goes through the roof - but you don't immediately need more people - so employment doesn't pick up for a while. In our present situation, we're gradually getting the GDP back up again - but we're somehow doing that without needing any more people. In times of crisis, companies will look for ways of improving productivity, they'll cut benefits, decrease wages...and gradually get back to where they were. But even as their profits start to recover, they won't recruit more people for a while - it's just too risky. Job recovery always lags GDP recovery - so expect this situation to last for another six months to a year maybe. SteveBaker (talk) 00:09, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

This was elimiante before I can even see this. When I'm older I seem to understand this clearly and clearly. If I earlier ask so many speculative questions when will it happen. At the minimum space 2 to 3 years maybe longer.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 17:47, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Is just my subnative language commands, the desk just help me to clear things up when I look at articles. I couldn't understand the article right off the bat, if I have 7 pages in the article to study, that's too muchto digest.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 21:10, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
If you need help, Wikipedia is not the ONLY place in the entire world. You have Yahoo Answers, for example. You can ask tons of questions there. You have libraries full of books to read if you don't feel like using a computer. You went out of your way to get banned from Wikipedia, which is not easy to do. Many people get blocked, but rarely do they get banned. Arguing about it and trying to sneak into the Reference Desk with an IP address doesn't help in any way. -- kainaw 21:11, 21 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't know how to use and sign in on Yahoo answers. I don't know how to start posting on Yahoo answers. I don't even know how to use facebook and myspace. it is language delay which I have.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 17:16, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Alot of people study from F shape pattern if school teacher have mention to student. Not only me do this alot of people do this. The blue and yellow and ultraorange colors is for when people study of from internet, they start off study caefully and the blue to the end they become more and more careless. But the books from library is outdate, and I won't find books from library talks about half black/white/asians. Books ins't an internet too. I'm not going to argue with my blocks and I will accept it. I thought I was able to come backt to infodesk because Lomn allow me back there. I don't know what he said by if I was contributing constructively while evading block and he admits to be honest to me people won't notice while I was evading block if my contribution was acceptable I still don't get the meaning by that.--209.129.85.4 (talk) 17:31, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
