November 2016 edit

Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to The Ethiopians. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! About articles for deletion edit

Hi, I've noticed that you've posted on several user talk pages about an article being nominated for deletion. That's not what you should be doing, if your concern is to retain the article. First, learn about the AfD process: read WP:Guide to deletion and WP:So your article has been nominated for deletion. Those will help you understand the process. Next, keep in mind that AfD hinges on WP:Notability. You should familiarize yourself with notability criteria for authors, and then make sure the article includes citations to reliable sources that demonstrate the subject meets those criteria. Then, go to the AfD page for the article and explain why you believe the subject is notable and which reliable sources support it. Good luck! Schazjmd (talk) 23:02, 8 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Autobiography - a bad idea edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article about yourself, at David Katz (author). Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:25, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Actually the article was not started by me. Many years ago an article was written and posted, that initial article had some errors and confusions with other people with the same name, so I updated it. You changed your criteria so I added references as required. The article should still be kept, the reasons given for deleting it do not tally with policy.1dubwize (talk) 19:37, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. You should never have edited an article about yourself, especially without admitting that you were the subject of the article. Far less should you have participated in the deletion discussion of an article about yourself incognito. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:51, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
