Translating articles for three Ming dynasty ethnic Mongol leaders edit

Hi, I'm responding here rather than my own talk page because unregistered editors can't receive pings and I am wanting to make sure you're able to see my response.

My workweek has just started, and I'm not sure how much time I'll have available soon to devote to translating articles. I also know almost nothing about the Ming dynasty, and it looks like the single source for those three articles (zh:董狐狸, zh:长秃, and zh:长昂) is in modern Chinese, which I'm personally a lot less fluent and comfortable in than classical Chinese. I checked the English language "Dictionary of Ming Biographies" (1976) and the 明史, and none of these three people have biographies in either of those sources.

You might be able to find someone who can help you with this by asking at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject China or maybe Talk:Ming dynasty. You could also try Wikipedia:Requested articles, although it's not a very well-attended process.

If you wanted to start articles for these individuals using the Wikipedia:Articles for Creation process, you're able to do that without registering an account on this site, and I'd be happy to help fix any translation issues with the articles once they've been drafted there, but I don't really have the time soon to take on this project as my own, and I don't have topic area expertise, or access to the source 中国民族史人物辞典 (2009) to verify any claims against. I hope you're able to find someone who can help you. Folly Mox (talk) 12:52, 14 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
