Feedback on Wikipedia: The Missing Manual

edit

Hello,

I saw your feedback on Wikipedia: The Missing Manual. Though Chapter 14 of The Missing Manual tells you some things about tables, it doesn't explain how to change the alignment of text. However, the part of this chapter headed "Basics of creating tables" directs you to read Help:Table and various tutorials for more information. I believe the "Vertical alignment" section of Help:Table answers your query.

The Missing Manual teaches editors the basics of wiki editing, and points us towards other pages to learn more detail. Though it is frustrating when the information you want is not in The Missing Manual, including detailed information would make it more confusing for those learning the basics. (Changing the cell alignment is not something that is necessary in most tables.) By providing links to other pages with more detail, it can still be used as a starting point to find what you want, though.

If you have any ideas on how to make the link to Help:Table easier to find, please suggest your ideas at Help talk:Wikipedia: The Missing Manual. If you have any further questions about Wikipedia editing, you can ask them at the Wikipedia:Help desk. – PartTimeGnome (talk | contribs) 21:20, 24 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
