Flags at the current events pages

edit

Please read the Wikipedia style guide on using flags. Flags may be decorative, yes, but they make the page harder to edit and are sometimes very contentious. I'm going to remove the flags from today's page. I suggest that you begin a discussion at Portal talk:Current events before adding flags again. -- John of Reading (talk) 21:15, 11 December 2011 (UTC) Response: I would start a discussion but it doesn't give me an option so I'm posting a discussion in the portals for the current day.Reply

Proposed deletion of Wilhelm Zeisser

edit

The article Wilhelm Zeisser has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

the correct spelling is Wilhelm Zaisser, and the latter page already exists

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A human addition to this machine message:
indeed, it took a while until I realised that something is wrong. But the correct spelling is indeed "Zaisser". I hope you do not object to the deletion of the page.
Best, Sasha (talk) 01:19, 12 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Just delete it.
someone has already turned it into a redirect. Sasha (talk) 21:18, 12 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits

edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:16, 12 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Current events posting guideline

edit

I suggest you stop to read the posting guideline displayed above the "Edit" box for these pages, as in this edit you changed a present tense "stabs" into a past tense "stabbed". But thank you for your continuing work to improve the current events pages - this is excellent! -- John of Reading (talk) 07:45, 13 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
