wp:dispute resolution

wp:dispute resolution might be the document you are looking for. Asking a potentially interested 3rd party is often useful. wp:3PO is a good place to get them, as is (as you did) going to an editor that has previously taken some interest in the article.- Sinneed 16:52, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi, please see here. Sorry it's a bit long and windy, but I hope my ideas are clear. I took two approaches to responding... I mean, two streams of thought. The first was a more technical/procedural issue, the second is more about whether the word "persecution" itself is appropriate. I made reference to a number of sources, and I would be happy to dig those up and present them in order to substantiate the claims I made. Hey, thanks for the evidence from Pegg's book. I've added it to the "cover art" section. Do you actually have a position/vote in this matter though? cause what you offered didn't register with those still voting to change the cover. Dan56 (talk) 19:46, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

I still take the position that it does not matter which comes first so long as both are included. I also think there can be more than one original release - there is the original US release and the original UK release. This especially seems true when the difference in release dates is probably no more than a marketing decision. When one is using "original release" as a contrast to "re-release" then this is the case. Surely no one would call the 1971 UK release a "re-release". So if there are two different original releases, then the image that comes first in the box is even less important.142 and 99 (talk) 19:58, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

TWD S6 short summaries (East)

I hadn't thought of that, but I now see how my "due to his murderous reaction toward a non-hostile survivor" is confusing. I was originally thinking of describing that guy as a "cowboy" because he was looking for his horse but thought that might be assuming too much and opted for the more generic "survivor" (as opposed to Savior).

As for Carol's exodus, I thought saying "Carol leaves" was too neutral and sounded like she walked out the gate rather than sneaking out in the middle of the night. Trying to keep it short, I used "Carol flees" to try and give a sense of her sudden escape.

Thanks for your thoughts (a lot of people don't explain their edits). If you can come up with better phrasing that doesn't increase the length of the summary too much, I'd appreciate any improvements. Reidgreg (talk) 12:30, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

I try to stay out of tweaking summaries as much as I can, only making changes if I think it is a clear error. The reason I changed "flees" was because I take that to imply she was running away from something frightening or dangerous and suggests a desire to move quickly to do so. Here she was just leaving for other reasons and not really in a hurry. But "flees" was good enough that I left it when I self-reverted.142 and 99 (talk) 17:54, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

I'll take good enough. I liken what Carol did to a jailbreak: sneaking out of a fortified, guarded encampment without raising an alarm. And one may take a while to plan and prepare for a jailbreak, but there can be a lot more haste when the plan is actually initiated. Lately Carol does appear frightened to me, or at least disturbed. The problem is that most of what's frightening her are issues that she's bringing with her.Reidgreg (talk) 15:16, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
