Information icon Hello, I'm Ohnoitsjamie. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:13, 14 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

You're right. I will add the citation. 139.182.208.223 (talk) 21:18, 14 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Calling a dachshund a "hot dog" is more colloquial. I understand the rules of Wikipedia, though arguably it may not need a source. It would be like finding a source to prove that a police officer is called a "cop". 139.182.208.223 (talk) 22:11, 14 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Final warning for adding material without a reliable source

edit

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia. OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:26, 14 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

How was that not a reliable source? Please assist me. 139.182.208.223 (talk) 22:28, 14 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
First of all, please read WP:CITE; adding a URL to an edit summary is not how you cite a source. Secondly, the food blog source you provided doesn't even say that dachsunds are also called hot dogs, it just discusses the origin of "hot dog" for the food. I suggest you move on. None of the sources you've mentioned meet WP:RS guidelines. OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:37, 14 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for persistently adding unsourced or poorly sourced content. Verifiability is a core Wikipedia policy. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Ponyobons mots 19:56, 16 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Ponyo… Just a heads up that this editor, as User:MinnesotaMethods, has stated their intent to continue this behavior when this particular block ends in 3 months.Special:MobileDiff/1145027286. Perhaps a longer block is needed here, along with the ability to edit their various talk pages removed? NJZombie (talk) 22:28, 16 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
NJZombie I generally don't block IPs for a longer duration than they've been used for disruption, so this block is already longer than I would usually make. People move on, IPs are reassigned etc. It's easy to reblock if there's disruption in the future.-- Ponyobons mots 22:31, 16 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
No problem. Just wanted to give the heads up more than anything. Thanks! NJZombie (talk) 22:32, 16 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
