I just wanted to make you aware of this discussion I started at Winter storm naming. I have no intentions of making any changes to the article myself, but was just hoping to get input from editors previously involved in the article (or recently-closed AfD) in an effort to improve the article and clarify its purpose. - Okay. But please don't delete the closing </noinclude> tag. Also, the white text should be retained on some of the coloured boxes for accessibilty reasons; some people have trouble reading things unless the contrast is sufficiently high. Re:Template:Period color in spanish Wikipedia edit
Hi, 24.218.110.195. In the Wikipedia in spanish we use the ICS & CGMW standard color codes, RGB version. To my knowledge not has been changed in the latest version of the table.
The RGB version we use is for computer screens presentations (main media for Wikipedia). You can find it at Standard Color Codes for the Geological Time Scale (RGB).
For the 2013 edition, I think they just used softer colors from the CMYK version, as standar for print.

- This user (Alnagov (talk) updated the colors to ICS 2013. He did not provide a source for us. You should ask him for the source. I looked everywhere for ICS 2013 rgb codes but could not find it. - I deleted the stages, and your complete edition, because you added codes that are not the ICS standards we're using there. I think you are not using the standard colors of the ICS in the English Wikipedia, though they were approaching. I think the standard color codes is stable since 2006, with the sole exception of Gelasian (when passed from Pliocene to Pleistocene).
- In Spanish Wikipedia at the moment we are not using the Template:Period color at stage level, but I can add them when necesary. Best regards, --PePeEfe (talk) 18:57, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Please stop edit warring over this template, and explain why you keep using alternate names for the Devonian sub periods which are associated with incorrect colours. And can you also explain why it is that, when I revert your edits to restore the correct colour scheme, you persistently reinstate your flawed version. I have left your flawed version in place for now. Please stop making a nuisance of yourself and either fix the colour used for the associated sub period names that you prefer, or reinstate the correct colours by reinstating the original template. - Well you have made no attempt to correct the colours, so your behaviour is bordering on vandalism. I have reinstated the original version which had the correct colours. Template and table in the spanish Wikipedia's Geologic time scale edit
Hi 24.218.110.195, the spanish and english Wikipedias are sisters but diferent proyects, need not be equal. We dont use the es:Plantilla:Escala temporal geológica (Template:Geologic time scale) because its innecesary, its just for one article. Then we prefer edit directly the table in the main article, don't click more times than necesary to reach and edit the data. We edit and update the article directly, without having to go to a template to make changes, its easier for habitual and sporadic editors.
Also, a part of the template is obsolete (names and dates), please don't change the table with the template.
The script detect you deleting a great part of the article, it's considered as vandalism.
Of course you is free and welcome to edit in spanish Wikipedia, but please respect the rules. We use the RGB formal color codes of the International Commission on Stratigraphy, I dont want go behind you changing codes each time you edit there, you know yet our sources (I put the link before), you can use those directly, not invented colors. - Why not move the table from the article into the template. Add the navbox so you can click on E to edit the tab. Like in our templates as in here Template:Geologic time scale. The navbox includes V to view page, T for talk discussion, and E to edit change. Using the navbox would be better just click E and edit it. - Is another publisher who is reversing your edits (and with which I agree), because you use color coding standards are not listed in the reference yourself bring in my talking page. Your codes are different. Please, read carefully the color codes in the referenced table. i.e. tarantian=rgb(255,242,211) vs. tarantian=rgb(255,241,214) Can you see the difference? your colors codes are different. Please take the time to read the references for the articles you're editing: there is no mention of "Zirconian" that I can find in the sources for zirconian, so I'm reinstating the proposed deletion on grounds that the term has no support in scientific literature. Likewise, the cited paper clearly describes the end of the proposed Chaotian eon as the collision with Theia. Additionally, the language that you've inserted is both casual and speculative. - That would mean that the Chaotian ended about 4.5 to 4.45 billion years ago, because the Theia collision occurred between 4.53 to 4.48 gya. The proposed timetable says the Chaotian ends 4.4 billion years ago. 24.218.110.195 (talk) 03:00 3 August 2013 (UTC) 11:00pm 8/02/2013 EDT.
