Tennis rankings

edit

Hello. Please note that the current ranking in tennis players' infoboxes means "the date the player obtained their current ranking". In other words, when the ranking does not change, there is no need to change the date. The ranking date should be changed only when the ranking actually changes. For example, see Dimitrov's ranking history: his current ranking was achieved on 2020-11-09, so that's the date that should be included in the infobox.—J. M. (talk) 22:15, 7 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Do not remove requests for citations without addressing the issue

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Grigor Dimitrov. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.—J. M.   Hello, I'm Donner60. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Juan Pablo Varillas, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Donner60 (talk) 02:10, 11 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Tennis rankings, part II

Hello. Again, please do not change ranking dates in infoboxes when the ranking does not change. Again, as the comment in the infobox clearly says, it's the date the player most recently obtained their ranking. For Dominic Thiem, it's 2021-02-22, as you can see in his rankings history.—J. M.   Hello, I'm J. M.. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Grigor Dimitrov seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —J. M. (talk) 01:16, 9 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Grigor Dimitrov. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you.—J. M. (talk) 00:35, 10 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Gilles Simon, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you.   Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Gaël Monfils, you may be blocked from editing. Mattythewhite (talk) 23:31, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
