Lama Jampa Thaye b.1952 (Dr. David Stott) in Wigan, is an internationally acclaimed Lama and one of the leading teachers of Tibetan Buddhism in the West, he is spiritual director of the Dechen Community, a network of Buddhist centres and groups worldwide. After teaching theology for 20 years in Manchester, founding the Kagyu Ling Buddhist Centre in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, he is now, arguably, Britain's most important Buddhist..[1] [2]

He is a fully qualified teacher of the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, being one of the few Westerners to hold such a position.
