Toronto RLFC are a Canadian semi-professional rugby league club based in Toronto, Ontario formed in 2014 due to compete in the 2017 Kingstone Press League 1 season.
History
editThe Rugby Football League first received an application from a Canadian consortium based in Toronto in 2014 to compete in Europe's third tier of professional rugby league.[1] It was suggested that due to Canada having the largest following of rugby league outside of Australia, France, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, that it could be a success.[2][3]
Home ground
editThe team's home ground will be at Lamport Stadium, Toronto and aims to play in blocks of four home matches, four away matches. Covering all away teams expenses throughout the season.[4]
2017 squad
editThe team is expected to include only 5 Canadians initially but mostly be filled with English and French players.[5]
