The Odakyu 2600 series (小田急2600形, Odakyū 2600-gata) was a commuter electric multiple unit (EMU) train type operated by the private railway operator Odakyu Electric Railway in Japan from 1964 to 2004.
Design
editThe 2600 series was the first "wide-body" communter train type ordered by Odakyu, featuring a 20-metre (65 ft 7 in) car length and a 2,900-millimetre (9 ft 6 in) car width. The type featured a 100-millimetre (4 in) width increase over that of standard commuter trains operated by JNR at the time, as well as a 3-metre (9 ft 10 in) increase in length over the cars of the preceding 2400 series "High Economical".[1][2]
