Manga is basically the japanese comic. Anime is the japanese animated cartoon. It is like the difference between a comic and cartoons, one is printed, the other is distributed through animated media like videos, tv, etc. -- ReyBrujo 19:37, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

Making a site like WikiFur

edit

Hi you may know me from uncyclopedia as Ff but i came to ask you a question. can you give me some tips for creating a site like wikifur? --Whopper 20:02, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

Well, the most important thing to do is get people who will help you. To attract them, you will have to do a lot of "seed posting" (possibly anywhere from fifty to over a hundred pages), and the project itself must be of enough interest for them to want to contribute to it. How you do that would depend on the community you choose to provide a wiki for.
It is generally inadvisable to create a wiki for a communtiy that does not exist yet, as then you have to generate the community, which is very hard. The most successeful Wikicities have been those that were "the wiki for fairly popular community X". It helps if the communities have a history of creative endeavour.
MeatballWiki has a useful page about the Wiki life cycle which I think should be mandatory reading for new wiki founders, if only so they have some idea of where they're going. Be sure to read the pages linked from there as well.
I guess another tip is to always remember that your objective should be to create a community that could survive without you. You are the founder, not the Dictator for Life. Besides, it can get awfully tedious if you're the only person doing the admin tasks. :-) GreenReaper 02:06, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

hi -- I reverted your edits to this page; sorry. Virtually all of them were changes of single word to near-synonyms, but often they were not phrased as well as the original version, and you broke at least one link. I'd suggest adding new, encyclopedic, important content, or editing things that are really broken, rather than changing someone's words in a way that doesn't add to the page. Thanks. bikeable (talk) 02:46, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Zhang Liao's Comment

edit

I thank ya for the comment you sent me about Zhao Yun. If you ever want to know more about some of the three kingdoms, check at www.three kingdoms.com/ Although the whole the novel is talking about Cao Cao and Liu Bei at many points, you may overall like it. --Zhang Liao 23:32, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Zhang Liao's Comment 2

edit

Of course I have played the Dynasty Warriors series, but I have only played DW 4. I haven't had the time to play the others. But from what I have played I understand the time line of how Liu Bei and Cao Cao came into power while the Sun family has been watching over their own lands and territory.

If you are wondering which Kingdom is my favorite, it would have to be the Wu kingdom due to their sense of protection and the generals. --Zhang Liao 02:03, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

The Battle of Xu Chang

edit

Well there is no real way to say how to beat this stage, but there are many things that you have seen throughout the battle.

As you start off near the lower area of the map where Zhen Ji is, defeat her and Cao Xiu to get the gates open. After a while or so, the seige ramp will appear and head for a certain location. To ensure its survival, all you must do is defeat the officer under Xiahou Dun's command. With the officer of Xiahou Dun dead, the seige ramp will set up as soon as it arrives.

Now the other problem is the base at the back. And as you know the two strategists (Either Zhou Yu or Zhuge Liang) will say that you can only save one of the choices which is the seige ramp or the base at the back. Well whatever they tell you, they are wrong. Both can be saved. After you managed to make sure the seige ramp is safe, if ya got a horse, hustle back there as fast as ya can. By the time you get to the outpost in the back, you should be able to save it and resume your march.

And the general that defeats the message (If you are talking about Si Shui Pass) is Hua Xiong. --Zhang Liao 02:26, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

I see the web pag looks very grand for now, but I will let you and your assistant fix up the web links. Let me know when you and he/she have done that and I will bestow all what I know about DW4 on the link. (I will also add in information from teh novel if need be.)

More or less, I hope this turns out well for you and your partner. Speak with ya soon. --Zhang Liao 05:00, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

I will also add on the levels on how to beat each one, if you need to have them. Also, I may make a few mistakes so in case I do plz let me know so I can correct them.

I will only add on the stages that some people are struggling with if you need the information instead of the names of the characters.

Moreover, just let me know if any information is needed to the link or if a link needs to be added, I will try to add one on. --70.244.48.92 19:57, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Sorry to bother, but whoever is working on the Wu Kingdom walkthrough might want to add the strategy, if any, to the Tale: Yellow Turbans Returns. Other than that, it looks great!

On second thought, since the kingdom of Wei and Shu are the same. just make sure the information is either the same or less. But I leave that up to you. And if ya need any help with Dong Zhuo's walkthrough, plz ask me if need be. --Zhang Liao 03:35, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Zhang Liao's Support 4

edit

As a small little hint for the Wu walkthrough for the assault on Liu Biao, if you finish that battle up quickly, you will get a massive enemy reinforcements in the next battle when it is Sun Ce and Zhou Yu who are leading the attack.

Also, in the last battle for chapter 3 of Wu, Huang Zu will appear as reinforcements near the bottom as you corner Liu Xun. --Zhang Liao 16:35, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Hint from Zhang Liao

edit

As far as the ROTK article being aside from the walkthroughs, sure why not. Might as well put a little bit more effort into this project since we got it this far.

And I never heard of the Lo Kuang Chung nor the five novel series. The only two famous pieces of China's literature that I've heard of is the ROTK and the Outlaws of the Marsh. I've tried to find any web page that covers the Outlaws of the Marsh story and so far I got nothing.

So far it is alright. And we might want to add on the information on how to get the Tales of Wu, Wei, and Shu, (Just in case some people wonder how to get them and if need be.)

Glad to hear that the Wu walkthrough is almost done. I will look at it later while I work on the Wei walkthrough. Most impressive so far! --Zhang Liao 16:02, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Hint from Zhang Liao 2

edit

Not that I'm complaining, but I think you rushed through some of the information a little too fast. (But that is just a thought.) Might want to look over the work and see what ya typed down. And if we are gonna add on how to get the level 10 weapons for the characters then we will have to add them in the story mode, but this is only a suggestion. --Zhang Liao 20:56, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Hint from Zhang Liao 3

edit

So far, everything is good and as for the level 10 weapons, that is entirely up to you since you turned the names into links. More or less, everything should be just fine. --Zhang Liao 04:02, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

Zhang Liao's Report

edit

I've finally added on the last battle for Wei so the Wei walkthrough is done. Other than that, I've do not see any other Walkthrough that needs to be done other than Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu's and of course the Yellow Turbans. --Zhang Liao 06:01, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi Whopper! You asked me what type of banjo I'd recommend for a first-time player--well, four strings are easier to tune than five, fretted is easier than non-fretted, and one with a back is louder than one without, but that's about as far as I'd go with recommendations; it's such a personal thing. Learn to strum a few chords (C-F-G) before trying to use a pick (I don't use finger picks at all, just try to keep my nails longish & rounded on the edge) and once you know a few 3-chord songs put in a break or two here & there. It's easy and really fun to play, enjoy yourself! Doovinator 06:31, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Doovinator 2

edit

There's a couple good books out there; I have one called "Bluegrass Banjo" from Oak Publications, and Mel Bay has a line of "You Can Teach Yourself ____" (name one of several instruments) but the one I used most was the little 8-page book that came with my banjo and listed a page full of various chords. The most useful thing to do in my opinion is to get a book of traditional songs (they don't have many complicated chord changes) and notate the places to change from C to F to G. You can fudge your way through just about any song with these 3 chords; if the song is written in a different key just pencil in the chords and key you want to use (all keys will have a predictable progression--C-F-G is the key of C; D-G-A is the key of D and so forth). You can even fudge the chords at first; a C is played with two fingers (in traditional C-G-B-D banjo tuning) and a G with one, but an F requires three. If you don't use your middle finger, you come up with a chord that isn't quite F but will do until you get better. Above all, relax and have fun! Playing a banjo isn't and never should be a chore. If you have trouble with a passage, play it slower, and sing it louder! Doovinator 04:16, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Esperanza!

edit

Welcome, Wossi/Archive1, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member, you might be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee , KnowledgeOfSelf, JoanneB, Titoxd and FireFox. The elections have ended.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact me via email or talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to be!

Vandalism in progress report

edit

Hi Whopper. I noticed you added an entry to Vandalism in Progress. That page is only for very specific cases, as described by the page's guidelines. Your alert would be better placed on Administrator intervention against vandalism (WP:AIV), where it will usually be processed within minutes. Many alerts that are incorrectly placed on Vandalism in Progress are never dealt with, simply because they become old before an administrator gets to them. Thanks for your efforts. :) // Pathoschild (admin / talk) 16:36, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
