Lucien Agoume is a young French midfielder born on February 9th, 2002. He has both French and Cameroon nationality and was born in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. Lucien Agoume started his football training in SC Clémenceau Besançon (2013) when he was young, and he signed for Racing Besançon during 2013-2014 season. From 2014-2018, Lucien Agoume was in the youth training of Ligue 2 club FC Sochaux-Montbéliard where he started professional football career. He made 16 appearances for FC Sochaux-Montbéliard during 2018-19 season.[1] Lucien Agoume transferred to International Milan during 2019 summer. The transfer costs Inter around €4,5 million, including add-ons.[2] Lucien Agoume joined Inter Milan Primavera and Inter Milan UEFA U19 during 2019-20 season. He has made five appearances in Primavera 1 and four appearances in UEFA Youth League so far.[1] He also had a 6-minutes appearance for Inter Milan in Serie A in 2019-20 season. Lucien Agoume is currently playing for France national under-18 football team, and he is the captain during th 2019 U17 World Cup period.[1] Lucien Agoume's highest market value is €3.50m and current market value is €3.20m.[1]

FC Sochaux-Montbéliard edit

Lucien Agoume started his professional football career in FC Sochaux-Montbéliard since 2014. He transferred from Racing Besançon in 2014 at the age of 12 and stayed in the youth team of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.[1] Lucien Agoume made his professional debut on 19th October 2018. FC Sochaux-Montbéliard won the game against Troyes by 2-1.[3] Lucien Agoume became the youngest player to debut in Sochaux. During the time he was playing for the club, other clubs such as Barcelona, Inter and Lyon was watching him.[4] Most of the time, Lucien Agoume played as a defensive midfielder. He can also be deployed as a central midfielder and an attacking midfielder.[4] Lucien Agoume showed good awareness and had good pinpoint passing and innovative vision.[4] According to Lucien Agoume's former head coach in FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, Omar Daf, Lucien Agoume is a player that improve in games.[5] Before Lucien Agoume transferred to Inter, he has already made 15 appearances for FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in Ligue 2 and one appearance in Coupe de France at the age of 17.[1]

Inter completed the sign of Lucien Agoume on 5th July 2019,[6] with a total transfer fee of €4.5 million including add-ons. According to the statement, Lucien Agoume has signed a three-years deal with Inter Milan. He was playing for the club's Primavera for 2019-20 season.[6] Inter Milan faced competitions from other clubs such as Barcelona and Lyon when signing the player. According to Oscar Damiani, one of the intermediaries in the deal, Barcelona and Manchester City wanted Lucien Agoume.[7] According to Lucien Agoume himself, he chose to transfer to Inter because Inter believes a lot in him.[7] Lucien Agoume's attributes made Inter to sign him duiring the summer transfer window. He is measuring at 185cm tall and stronger compare to other player at his age. These attributes made him become a defensive midfielder with incredible tackle resistance.[7] Fans compare Lucien Agoume with Paul Pogba. Pogba has the same nationality and play the same position as Lucien Agoume. Antonio Conte trained both of them before.[7] So far, Lucien Agoume has played for Inter's Primavera in Primavera 1 for five times (450 minutes) with one goal and one assist. He has four appearances for the Inter Milan UEFA U19 in the UEFA Youth League and had two assists. Lucien Agoume made his first appearance for Inter in a pre-season friendly against Lugano. He made a substitute appearance and Inter finally won a 2-1.[8] Lucien Agoume made his Serie A debut on 15th December 2019. He made a six minutes' substitute appearance in the 1-1 match against Fiorentina.[9]

Lucien Agoume was born in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, but also has French nationality. Before he became an adult, he trained for many years on different French teams. French National Team has a long history and was the 1998 World Cup champion.[10] So far, he has played in international competitions for the French U16, U17 and U18 youth teams. His U16 debut was on May 5, 2018.[1] Lucien Agoume scored two goals for the U16 youth team in four games. As a defensive midfielder, his efficiency has brought attention from clubs around the world. Five months later he jumped into the French U17 youth team and scored four goals in 23 international matches.[1]

On August 20, 2019, Lucien Agoume made his debut for the French U18 youth team. Right now, he is also the captain of the team. In 2019, he scored a goal each against Paraguay U18 and Senegal U17. So far, he has made 11 appearances for the U18 team and got four goals.

U17 World Cup edit

He participated in the U17 World Cup with the team as the team's captain. He scored a goal in the U17 World Cup group match against Chile on October 27, 2019. He played for the team six times throughout the tournament, five of which were captains, leading the team to third place in the tournament.[1] His performance made him be ranked among the top ten notable players in the tournament by FIFA.[11] His physical condition and passing skills make him be noticed by fans.[11]After a 2-3 lost to Brazil in the tournament where Lucien Agoume was unable to make an appearance because of the suspension, the coach Jean-Claude Giuntini admitted that Agoume is an important player for the team.[12] His teammate, Nathanael Mbuku, said during the interview that the absence of Lucien Agoume was detrimental.[12] Nathanael Mbuku also said in the interview that 'He's the captain and he's a player who can put his stamp on a game. He's someone we needed.'[12]

On August 20, 2019, Lucien Agoume made his debut for the French U18 youth team. Right now, he is also the captain of the team. In 2019, he scored a goal each against Paraguay U18 and Senegal U17. So far, he has made 11 appearances for the U18 team and got four goals.

Lucien Agoume has made 38 appearances for the French national team, including youth team, and scored 10 goals.[1] He won third place in the U17 World Cup as the captain of the team. Lucien Agoume is currently the youngest player debut in Ligue 2 of all time.
