Dr. Béla Horváth (29 January 1886 - 1981) was Hungary's Acting Minister of Interior during a critical period of the Lakatos government in 1944. He was appointed on 6 September 1944, when it became clear that Miklos Bonczos (appointed to the post a few weeks earlier) was too ill to perform his duties. Horváth served in this capacity until 15 October 1944, working closely with Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg to save Jewish lives. Horváth was placed under house arrest after the Arrow Cross coup d'etat on 15 October.
