Percona Server for MongoDB [1] is a free, enhanced, fully compatible, open source, drop-in replacement for MongoDB Community Edition with enterprise-grade features. It is a distribution of the NoSQL Document-oriented database MongoDB created by Percona. It requires no changes to MongoDB applications or code.
The open source code is available at github, and is based on the original MongoDB fork TokuMX acquired in 2015
The software distribution includes MongoDB storage engines MMAPv1 and, by default, WiredTiger. It also includes two storage engines not supported by MongoDB: Percona Memory Engine, an open-source in-memory engine which is a configuration of WiredTiger produced by Percona, and MongoRocks, a storage engine for MongoDB based on the [2]RocksDB key-value store, optimized for fast storage.
