The beauty of Omusati region in Namibia

Omusati region is situated far in the north part of Namibia closer to the border of Angola.The region comprises eleven constituencies: Onesi,Tsandi, Outapi,Okalongo,Oshikuku, Elim, Okahao,Anamulenge, Otamanzi, andRuacana.[1]


There are a lot of people that speak different languages and all that diversity contributes to its beauty. People there enjoy and appreciate the beauty around them. We love the natural beauty of the landscapes. When the whole country comes here they saw the sprit we have and left asking for more. You will be attracted by Etunda irrigation project where the vegetables and fruits are produced throughout the year. We call it forever green place. Ruacana waterfall is far north-west of the region, a place that attract more foreign and is where we get our hydro electric power. You will be attracted by beautiful mountains that around all over the place. Omusati region is a place where you can find Mopani trees “omisati” in oshiwambo language. You will be attracted by Baobab trees, the biggest tree in the world that found in Outapi town. The place where Omahangu crops is produced. This is the staple food for the people in Omusati region. Farming is our dairy activity. You will be attracted by different types of cattle, goats, pigs and donkeys. Poetry is also part of our farming. You can different types of birds with different colors. You will enjoy our delicious traditional food and our traditional products in the marketing place.[2]
