Little Women is an upcoming remake of the 1868 Louisa May Alcott novel of the same name. Greta Gerwig has written the screenplay and will directed the feature this coming fall in Boston. The film will star Saoirse Ronan as the titular character Jo March, Emma Stone will play older sister Meg March, Timothee Chalamet will play Laurie Laurence, Meryl Streep will play Aunt March, and Florence Pugh will play Amy March.

On 6 August 2016, Gerwig was announced to re-write the screenplay for Amy Pascal and Sony Pictures, taking over from Sarah Polley[1] On 29 June, 2018, it was announced that Saoirse Ronan, Emma Stone, Timothee Chalamet, Meryl Streep, and Florence Pugh were all in-talks to star; and that Greta Gerwig will direct in her second solo-directorial feature. [2] On 3 July, 2018, it was confirmed that Meryl Streep will play Aunt March, and will focus on the sisters' young adult lives jumping back in forth in time, and that the film will be released in fall 2019. [3]
