Table Volleyball

edit

Table Volleyball, also known as "Double Dragon", is a sport in which four players hit a lightweight foam ball back and forth using their hands. The game takes place on hard table divided by a net. For the initial serve, players must allow a ball played toward them only one bounce on their side of the table, either return it so that it bounces on the opposite side or pass it to the teammate without bounce on a table so the teammate can hit it over the net. Points are scored when a player fails to return the ball within the rules. Play is fast and demands quick reactions. Spinning the ball alters its trajectory and limits an opponent's options, giving the hitter a great advantage. When doing so the hitter has a good chance of scoring if the spin is successful.

Table Volleyball is governed by the Global Table Volleyball Association (GTVA), founded in 2013 by four designers at Beyond design, design consultancy, located in Chicago. GTVA currently includes 6 member associations. The Table Volleyball official rules and guides are specified in this document.
