-To me, Vandalism means
  • Addition of some undesirable content to an article.
  • Deletion of some vital information or change some information from the article suc that article might loose its importance.
  • Blanking content of an article with some irrelevent content.
  • Deleting or blanking any referenced content without citing any reference or reason.

1.Vandalism

Vandalism, in terms of wikipedia is to changed the content of wikipedia in a way that might hurt the integrity of Wikipedia. Adding some contents that is irrelevent into a specific article or deleting some integral content of an article that might affect the motive of the article or changing some content of an article that might affect the impotance of article is termed as Vandalism.
Some action that is considered as vandalism are:
  • Blanking the content of an article
  • Removing or adding non content tags unnecessarily
  • Writing offensive edit summary, adding copyrighted material after warning
  • Malicious page or account creation

2.Difference between good faith edit and vandalism

Good Faith edit is considering that an edit has been made on an article for constructive purpose. Although initially it might look that the changes made might affect an article, but some times for specific purpose or need that changes may be essencial for the article. There exists potential difference between Good faith edit and Vandalism. In vandalism, the sole purpose is to affect wikipedia article in destructive way or not to adhere the wikipedia guidelines. Some actions like Boldly editing, changing an article content without leaving an edit summary,violating copyright unknowningly,accidental or experimental changes made by new editors or incorrect wiki style should be considered as good faith edit. -Som999 (talk) 16:08, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Examples of Vandalism:

  • Blanking an article entirely
  • Adding some non sence or objectional content into an article
  • Uploading copyrighted material after warnings.
  • Removing non content tags e.g {{afd}} from an article
  • Creating mutiple account with malicious motive

  • Editing an article without adding an edit summary
  • Experimental or accidental changes made by newcomers
  • Violating copyright or wikipedia guidelines unknowingly
  • Adding original research or personal attacks on some one
