User:TheGeoffMeister/Wikipedia Uncertainty Principle

The Wikipedia Uncertainty Principle is a proposed theory that attempts to explain the direct effect that posting a link of a Wikipedia article has on that Wikipedia article.

One cannot call attention to a Wikipedia article without causing that article to be altered.

The principle was first proclaimed in a comment on Reddit, by the user Tarantio, in reference to a political article. Although the article makes no mention of Wikipedia, or any edits to Wikipedia, most readers agree to a general consensus that the user is referencing an effect that is common on mass-linking sites, such as Reddit, Digg, or StumbleUpon. Until this phrase was submitted, there is no evidence of any previous summarization of this effect.
