You are using an alpha version of the VisualEditor. It may be slow and make erroneous changes -- please check each edit that you make:
At first I was afraid, I was petrified thinking how I could live without you by my side.[1] Oh, ok...definitely not the right lyrics. -- cannot edit references using visualeditor.
But I can make wikilinks by highlighting the word or phrase, clicking the hyperlink button and searching for the article I want to link to. Meh. But I cannot add references using the visualeditor unless I know what code to use -- <ref></ref> etc...
