A Cable Car transport network has been proposed and submitted to the Perak state government for approval in early 2020. This cable car system will interconnect Teluk Batik on the mainland to Pangkor Island at Teluk Gedung, continuing on to Pangkor town and Pantai Pasir Bogak for Phase-1 totalling approximately 6.5 km (4.0 mi) with a total journey time of 20 minutes over 4 stations.

Phase 2 of the network will see connectivity to Pulau Mentagor, Teluk Nipah, Peak of Bukit Pangkor, Sungai Pinang Kecil and finally returning to Pangkor Main Town to complete the loop network.

Pangkor Island is presently served by scheduled ferry services and Pink Taxis on the island. This Cable Car network will complement and provide accesibilty to underserved reaches of the island.

As Pangkor is a Duty Free Island and is easily accessible from Penang in the North to Kuala Lumpur in the South, all within a 180km drive. This catchment has an approximate population of 10 million.
