It is believed

by the devotees that the Goddess has enormous powers over curing illnesses and hence,

it is a ritual to buy small metallic replicas,

made with silver or steel,

of various body parts that need to be cured,

and these are deposited in the donation box.[citation needed]

Those who pray HER --- as their MOTHER, SHE Protects them. Here the Citation is NOT important, since it is a Spiritual Experience and one can feel internally.

A very Short Explanation about the Experience of The Wikipedia user "TRYPPN".

During 2003-2004, he visited the Samayapuram Marriyamman Temple.

Before entering the Temple, so many lady vendors who sell the metallic parts of body surrounded him.

They were forcing to buy them.

To satisfy them the Metallic Human Parts in full and other parts being purchased and offered to the Goddess Samayapuram Marriyamman.

After visiting the Temple, while returning back to M.P, due to some reasons, the above user, fallen down from the "Running Train".

Miraculously there was NOT EVEN A SINGLE SCRATCH in the body due to the accident.

Then the user REALISED THE POWER OF Samayapuram Marriyamman.

Thus she protected him in totality, and he understood, why so many lady vendors surrounded him while visiting the Samayapuram Marriyamman Temple.


Majority of HER devotees are villagers and each one is having a strong story about their spiritual experience with HER.

Due to the same reasons, Thousands of devotees visit this temple.

Please note this is SECOND most crowd attracting temple after Palani, in Tamil Nadu.(Citation Ends))

  • I did not get the reservation, I was forced to travel on Un-Reserved coach, in the GT Express
  • I was in the Un-reserved coach, which was partly used by the Postal Department. They closed 2 doors on one side of the coach and near the door also the Bags were kept. Literally it was closed and no one can use the door and toilet facilities.
  • At the time of getting down there wer more than 20 people near the door. I was not able to take out my 2 Bags and I just got down from the Train and the Train started moving. I do not know what to do.
  • I decided to go along with the Train. I was nearer to the Colsed Doors of the Postal Department. I was literally Hanging on the side window. The Train picked up speed and my luggages were there only and I requested them to through the luggage and no one bothered.
  • Finally I decided to get down from the Train. I requested the postal department employee to pull the chain. But he was not doing that. There was no alternative other than Jumping from the "Running Train".
  • I jumped from the "Running Train", which already crossed more than 500 metres from the platform. It was literally out side the station area.
  • In the Railway Track side by the Gitty (Small Stones) every where. I jumped over that. I got up and after few seconds, the Train was stopped.
  • May be some one pulled the chain, by seeing myself falling on the Track. At that time I found that no injury for me. Even the spectacle which I was wearing was in tact.
  • After that I was running towards, unreserved coach. Some people thrown my 2 bags and everybody was cursing me for my action of falling from the running train. Every one advised for my good health and to take care in the future.
  • The Train left within 10-30 seconds and the Assistant, who was coming for clearing the "Chain Pulling" action, was not bothered about my falling. Instead, he was mentioning that he has to do his job quickly, because, every 5 minutes there will be a Train and he should go fast and clear the route.
  • Once the Train left from there, one passer by, he was crossing the Railway Track commented, that this type of activity will be done only by the person who decided to "Suicide" himself.
  • After that the Railway Track maintenance employee, who was few metres away came to me and he asked for the ticket and noted the ticket number also. I asked him the reason, he mentioned, if any one ask for any detail about this then he has to provide the details along with ticket number.
  • Then I started moving to cross the Railway Track to go to the Railway Canteen, which was almost at the end of the Station. Once I reached there, I kept my luggages at one end of the wall side. Then I noticed, that Shridi Sai Baba was in the sitting pose and strait away seeing me.
  • I am also a Baba devotee. So, at that time I felt that Baba took care of me.
  • After few days only I was able to recollect the activities at Samayapuram Temple where I purchased the Metallic parts of Human body and other parts of body.
  • For the temple at Samayapuram, myself and my Second Son (P.Prakash Vel) went together for the Dharshan. Fisrt we went to the Centre where tonsure use to take place and for my son, as per the prarthana he made the full shaving of his hair. After he took bath we were proceeding to go to the temple area. At that time some old ladies forced us to buy the mettalic parts and we bought there to satisfy them and we thought it is sufficient and felt happy about that.
  • After that we went to the shop to buy the Abishaka materials and Garland . At that time in reality more than 3 to 4 ladies were not allowing us to proceed further and they totally compeled us to buy the metallic parts of the body and it will be beeficial for us etc convincing words. We were ignoring them, but they again compelled us to buy. Finally from each lady we bought few items to satisfy all of them.
  • Then we offered these metalic parts in the donation boxes and prayed for our health.
  • This is the way the MOTHER was knowing that some accident is going to happen, so SHE want to protect us by taking the Advance Dhaksina, throgh those ladies.
  • Unimaginable and TRUE.
  • Whenever I visit Tiruchirapplli, I am making my compulsory visit to the Ever Powerful Goddess the Samayapuram Mariyamman, without fail. I always by the Metalic parts and one Garland and pray to HER in front of the 'Kodi Kammbam' in full 'Sashtanga Namaskaram', without bothering the Shirt Pant and the Crowd around me.
  • So, Pray Whole Heartedly and Surrender to HER.
