INTRODUCTION

Heritage day it's a day that recognises and used to celebrate the Cultural wealth of our national Heritage day.It is the day where we all come together and celebrate our South African roots and diverse cultures. These rich and lively cultures are why South Africa is also know as "RAINBOW DAY" .


HISTORY OF HERITAGE DAY

Heritage day was initially known as Shaka/s day. King Shaka Zulu was a founder of Zulu nation . Our timeline started at 1828 the year our Legendary King Shaka Zulu died . He died creating the remembrance of his name and celebrating his encouragement to a cohesive nation . In 1996 our late President addressed the Heritage Day starting claim that celebrating as something that would helps us to contribute to developing our national roots. A day dedicated to commemorating the legendary king Shaka Zulu on the presumed date of his death in the 24th of September 1828 although Shaka Zulu played a role , a very important role in uniting the Zulu clans into one cohesive Zulu nation in KwaZulu Natal . To this day hundreds and thousands of people gathered at a memorial of King Shaka Zulu on the 24th September every year to pay tribute to their great Zulu King.
