Personal life

edit

SPEED's carries a third generation name that was passed down by his father and grandfather who happen to be from the Dominican Republic. Speed credits his grandma Big Momma for helping him find his was with music with telling him always to be your self and express your self freely. She initially gave him his first rhyme book where he began to write his first song. His Mom had three boys Speed is the middle child. He grew up in a very religious home and was actually told by his mom not to listen to rap music because she felt it was too vulgar and violent. That helped him get more creative if he was to do hip hop to prove it didn't always have to be that way, also had him research and study different genres of music. SPEED began searching for his own individuality early which had him researching different religions from Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, five percent nation, Moorish Science. Speed with a strong bond with his city does tons of activism and charity work within the community also helping the race relations in a place known for its racism.

Speed style of music is like a melting pot of different influences which he credits that to where he lived in corryville (clifton area) in Cincinnati where he seen many diverse people and musicians at Bogart's and Sudsey Malones where rock bands, jazz bands, hip hop and many more styles of music would come play live he would watch them all as a kid that would help cultivate him as the artist we know him for today.
