Yashashri Masurkar is an Indian television actress. She is popularly known for playing the female protagonist 'Khanak' in STAR One's show Rang Badalti Odhani . She is also noted for essaying the role of Princess Mrignayani in the Imagine TV show Chandragupta Maurya and the main lead Shivani in Zee Marathi's Laxman Resha. She appeared in an episode of Imagine TV's reality dance show Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan in late 2011. Currently, she is seen as Dr Priyanjali in Aabhas Aa a Marathi show on Zee Marathi.

Personal Life

Yashashri is a very simple girl who always dreamt of doing something in art form. She always has had a good hand at drawing, painting and writing apart from being an avid sportswoman. Being good at studies as well, she was an all rounder. She has studied Kathak for two years but could not continue her dance due to her hectic shooting schedules.

Early Career

Yashashri, a self dependent girl from an early age, started earning with private tuitions when she was in class 8. She then worked as an assistant in a pharmacy, further at a pathology lab. After that, Yashashri worked for All India Radio as an announcer. Then like most of the teenagers, the call center bug bit her too, so Yashashri worked there for some time until things changed after the day Yashashri participated in a beauty pageant called "Shravan Queen 2009" organised by Times of India group. Yashashri won the runner up title and she wanted to work in the media industry more but wasn't allowed to take leaves from work,so decided to quit BPOs and chase her dreams.

Television

Yashashri started her television career with the Marathi serial called Laxman Resha. She was spotted by Mamta Patnaik-wife of the founder of Beyond Dreams Entertainment Limited,Yash Patnaik.They gave Yashashri a chance to play Khanak in Rang Badalti Odhani opposite Karan Tacker[1]. After the show went off air she was approached to play the female lead in Imagine TV's historical show Chandragupta Maurya [2]. She essayed the role of Mrignayani, the Princess of Taxila in the show but later quit the show due to less screen space in the male dominated historical tale[3].She was also a a contestant in NDTV Imagine's dance reality show Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan[4].The charming,energetic Yashashri won her place in the audience's heart with her innocent smile and excellent acting skills. She played the role of Dr. Priyanjali in a Marathi saga called Aabhas Aa which airs on Zee Marathi. Yashashri appeared in a cameo in Hum Ne Li Hain Shapath on Life OK where she played the role of ruchi, a wronged killer.She was noted for playing the role with a natural ease.She then appeared in ETV Marathi show Lek ladki Ya Gharachi wherein she played the role of a wildlife photographer. She is all set to appear opposite Jay Soni in a new colors show called Sanskriti which will also mark her return to mainstream hindi drama. Swapna Waghmare Joshi, the director of her erstwhile show Rang Badalti Odhani is producing this showwhose shoot has already started in the United States of America. Yashashri was promised the lead role in this show which was titled Sanskar Dharohar Apnon ki on Colors. However her role was butchered in the show which led to her leaving the show and was therein replaced by Supriya Kumari of Bairi Piya fame.

Rumours

It was rumoured that Yashashri was seeing Harpreet her costar from Odhani. However she denied the news [5]. The same way it was said that she was having a hate relationship with Karan tacker her other costar, courtesy a big media house, and could not see eye to eye with him [6]. However both Karan and Yashashri have denied these reports constantly.
