Allied Colloids was a large manufacturer of specialty chemicals, based in Bradford in northern England. They specialised in chemicals used in water treatment, particularly polyacrylamides used as flocculation agents. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange and was a member of the FTSE 250. Their original, 13 acre site, is still operation in Low Moor, Bradford and is now run by Solenis. It is one of the largest chemical plants in the UK.

Allied Colloids was founded in 1935 and moved to the site in Low Moor in 1953.[1]

It faced a hostile takeover by Hercules and was taken over by Ciba Specialty Chemicals in 1998. [2][3] Ciba was later taken over by BASF in 2009[4] which was transferred to Solenis in 2019.
