Thomas Everett Ross better known as Tommy Ross is a fictional character created by Stephen King from his 1974 best-selling novel Carrie. Tommy is depicted as a popular boy in high school and is the boyfriend of Sue Snell. Tommy is asked by Sue to take Carrie White to the school prom. This is due to guilt Sue feels as a result of her involvement in Carrie's humiliation after her hysterical reaction to her first period. Ross is portrayed by William Katt in the Brian De Palma film adaptation of the novel. Ross was later portrayed by Paul Gyngell in the 1988 musical adaptation, by Tobias Mehler in the 2002 television film and by Ansel Elgort in the 2013 film remake.
