Homestead Guitars is a high-end Dutch-Indonesian acoustic guitar brand (Dutch design, Indonesian production). Homestead custom builds guitars to the specifications of the client, but also standard models are available. In 2017 Homestead Guitars was registered as a brand by the Dutch consultancy Nehem International.

In 2012, more or less by coincidence, Nehem International established a contact with a family business in Bandung, Indonesia, which has been building guitars since 1959. Subsequently it took more than three years before the idea was born to develop and produce high-end guitars and early 2017 Homestead produced its first guitars. George Kooymans from the Golden Earring was one of the first guitarists with a Homestead. His comment on Dutch TV-West was: “The guitar plays fantastic. You can see that it was made with an enormous amount of love. Real craftsmanship.”

Homestead guitars are built from the finest tone woods available, including Javanese Rosewood, Makassar Ebony and Adirondack AAA spruce, all solid. The headstock, neck and heel are made on one piece mahogany. Homestead guitars are available in different body shapes and as a full body model or in a choice of cutaways. Homestead Guitars has recurrently been awarded with the maximum five stars in the Dutch magazine “Gitarist”. A growing number of Dutch and International professional musicians play Homestead.

Homestead pays extra attention to the sustainability of rosewood. Rosewood is an endangered species and to make rosewood available for future generations Homestead gives each client a young rosewood tree as a gift. On March 10th, 2018 the first 100 trees were planted on the site of the Institute for Technology Bandung (ITB) in Sumedang on Java. Each tree carries the name tag of the client.
