Setup
editWe will begin by making a copy of these exercises in your sandbox.
- Log into Wikipedia. If you do not have an account, you can create one.
- Leave this page open for instructions. Open the following link in a new tab: create or edit your sandbox (Tip: To open a link in a new tab, right-click the link → select 'Open in a new tab' OR ⌃ Ctrl + click the link)
- On this (instructions) page:
- click Edit source to the left of the search box (top-right corner of your screen) and copy the contents of this entire page. (Tip: press ⌃ Ctrl + a to select all.)
- On the sandbox page (from Step 1):
- paste the copied content (from Step 2) into the edit box.
- click to publish the page.
This will give you a copy of this page in your sandbox, which you can now freely edit.
How to use
editComplete the exercises according to instructions. You can refer to notes in Wikipedia:GLAM/University of Toronto Libraries/Editing and the DIY slide deck.
To begin editing, click Edit or Edit source to the left of the search box (top-right corner of your screen).
