Rodney Arthur (/‘rכd:ni ar:өυәr/; born October, 1975, Waterloo, Iowa) is the Product Manager of Planter Automation at Dawn Equipment Company in Sycamore, Illinois. His focus is product genesis and design of agricultural electro-hydraulic systems, and the processors that control them. Prior to this he was the marketing director at Dawn where he maintained all marketing material affiliated with Dawn Equipment Company, and oversaw user experience on all product manuals, periodical advertisements, Dawn Equipment Company affiliated websites, and Dawn Equipment GUI/HMI's.

Rodney Arthur was born in Waterloo, Iowa, the eldest of four children to John W. Arthur, a Norwegian-American financial adviser/principal, and Karen (Olson) Arthur, a Norwegian-American teacher in Iowa City, Iowa

Arthur graduated in 1994 from Iowa City West High School. Arthur began college at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. After only 1 year Arthur moved back to Iowa City, Iowa. He first attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and after Kirkwood he enrolled as an undergraduate at IOWA, majoring in physics, mathematics, & sculpture for four years.

Arthur has worked in a variety of artistic venues, including touring indie bands : The Schwillbillies (one of Pokey LaFarge's pre-South City Three bands), FX makeup & FX mechanical work in movies: Collapse (with Chris Mulkey & Karen Landry), the Resist Evil trilogy movies (with Armin Shimerman, Edwin Neal, Felissa Rose, & Fred Williamson), multilingual promotional posters, identifiers, advertisements, & billboards : World Class Boxing, SmarteCarte, Dawn Equipment Company, Oral-b, his commercial work has been reproduced over 25 million times in such publications as Successful Farming, Farm Journal, Corn & Soybean Digest. He has also amassed a huge number of independent art pieces in multiple media (exe. Fall Creek Boys Choir album cover artwork)

Music

Arthur has been involved in several musical endeavors, and has toured the United States with various musical entities most notably The Schwillbillies a 5-man group known for an eclectic blend of an Intense punk sound using only old time acoustic instruments and melodies. The Schwillbillies toured from 2002-2005 touring with bands including: The Hackensaw Boys, The Big Wu, Old Crow Medicine Show. They played shows with several other popular bands until their disbanding in 2005.

Arthur is currently working on his own solo project, which is several years in the making, "and may take a couple more".
