Hard To Find Party Supplies is an internet based retail party supply store that specializes in rare, vintage, and hard to find products. The company was established in 2010 as a hobby turned business and rapidly turned into a unique and dominant force in the online party industry. It currently carries over 10,000 products and operates out of a 7,000 square-foot warehouse located in Newport News, Virginia.[1] They ship over 100 packages daily and ship worldwide 6 days a week.[1]
History
editHusband and wife team, Adam and Jennifer Schlain, are the founders of Hard To Find Party Supplies. They created the company in 2010 as an eBay store under the name "e-party2010." They began with $20,000 worth of vintage party supplies they had collected over the previous 9 years.[2]
In 2012, Adam and Jennifer launched the e-commerce website HardToFindPartySupplies.com.[2] They began operating out of a 4,000 square-foot office warehouse with 8 employees, selling over 200 character patterns. Also in 2012, the company expanded its business model to include all current licensed patterns including newly released merchandise.[3]
In 2014, Hard To Find Party Supplies upgraded its operations by purchasing a 7,000 square-foot warehouse and expanding to 15 employees. In May of 2014, HardToFindPartySupplies.com added "Party Ideas" and "Museum" sections to the website to offer free fun activities and showcase the extremely rare and discontinued party supplies they have collected over the years. In July of 2014, Hard To Find Party Supplies expaned to its 3rd online marketplace, Amazon.com.
Owners
editAdam Schlain holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Old Dominion University. Adam is responsible for tracking down the unique merchandise through networking and traveling throughout the country. His wife, Jennifer, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University and a law degree from Wake Forest, maintains her law office while she simultaneously oversees the day-to-day operations of Hard To Find Party Supplies.[1][2]

editHard To Find Party Supplies specializes in party items that are vintage, discontinued, and hard to find, as well as newly released party products.[4] They offers an assortment of rare and current party supplies from He-Man to Power Rangers and Disney Princesses to Finding Nemo.[1] Other hot product lines include Little Bear, How To Train Your Dragon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Disney's Little Einsteins, Blue's Clues, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Godzilla, Scooby-Doo!, and Disney's Frozen, many of which manufacturers don't make anymore.[1] Additionally, Hard To Find Party Supplies carries more than 300 themes for children’s parties, including popular licensed characters. They sell over 5,000 products on eBay, over 6,000 products on Amazon, and over 10,000 products on HardToFindPartySupplies.com.

Community
editHard To Find Party Supplies has given back to the community in the form of partnering with the Confetti Foundation. In January 2014, The Confetti Foundation started supplying birthday party kits to children who spend their birthdays in the hospital. Through the party kits, children of all ages are celebrated and honored on their special day.[7]
