Janamitra (Kannada:ಜನಮಿತ್ರ) is a Kannada morning daily in Karnataka. "janamitra" has the literal meaning of "People friendly".
With its tag line Jilleya jana manada kai gannadi (Kannada:ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಜನಮನದ ಕೈಗನ್ನಡಿ ), meaning "The mirror reflection of the feelings of the people". Started in the year 1961 from Hassan, now has chickmagalur Edition. The paper was started by a na kru. Now taken over by pramod and madan gowda , is the highest selling local paper in hassan and chickmagalur.
