Cameron Beccario is a computer programmer and creator of the animated earth: windmap visualisation of global wind and weather data. He is originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Born in the United States, he is currently living and working in Japan. He has studied Computer Engineering and gained a BSc at the Iowa State University. He has worked for Microsoft, (Seattle), TradingScreen (Tokyo) and actually working for Indeed also in Tokyo.[1]

He has given presentations on the evolution of the design of the windmap in 2014 in London[2]

The windmap animated website has gained significant acclaim from commentators [3][4][5][6][7]
