Strings Bar and Venue is a 300 capacity live music and performing arts venue located in the town of Newport, Isle of Wight, England. It was opened in June 2017[1] by Isle of Wight musicians Ian Davison, Claydon Connor and Guy Page[2].


The venue is used by the Platform One music college as a showcase for college performers on a weekly basis[3], as well as for end of year shows[4].

In 2018[5] and 2019[6], Strings hosted the Wight Noize music competition that provides the winners with a chance to play the main stage of the Isle of Wight Festival.


The venue is housed .. . The bar is generally a showcase for local bands and musical acts. There is also a nightclub on the ground-floor which mostly specialises in indie and alternative rock music.

The first-floor often hosts more established artists. Some of the more notable acts to have played include

Today Strings features and promotes up-and-coming bands and artists touted by the likes of the NME, and is a regular venue on the Toilet circuit. It also plays host to a variety of local un-signed acts from Bedford and the surrounding area.
