My name is Mark, and I'm a professional historian living in Bozeman, Montana. I have a pretty wide variety of interests -- many of which involve travel in one form or another -- but here on Wikipedia I mostly devote my energy to articles about the history and geography of the Rocky Mountain and Northern Plains states. Mostly, I enjoy working on significant but little-known topics ... subjects not likely to receive much attention on Wikipedia otherwise.

These are a few of the articles I've either created or heavily rewritten:

Places

Railroads/Trains

Historians

Closed Colleges

Miscellany

Photographs

I'm an amateur photographer, and am slowly beginning to upload some of my photos for use on Wikipedia. A gallery of my uploaded photos is at: User:Pitamakan/Images.

I sometimes store Wikipedia code snippets and such at User:Pitamakan/Cribsheet.
