Values lost in the Pearl of the Orient Sea

edit

Mankind was born to be Pioneers, they build landscapes, construct buildings, conquer seas, clear mountains and forest, erect towns and cities in the wilderness. Everything is in the hands of man, and in an Island in the East, lies an Archipelago called the Philippines. The Philippines citizens are called Filipinos. During the Pre-Conquest Period, Filipinos' lived dominantly through every corner of the said country. Filipinos lived far from Civilization but their Values are undeniably better than foreign countries. Filipinos in those times were strong-willed, earnest, adventurous, and filled with proper manners and conduct. They maintain their values and tradition, as if it is their only possession. But as time goes by, the Filipinos in the present seemed to fade.

Manuel Quezon

Manuel Quezon, a former President of the Philippines, said to the Filipinos that they are "soft easy-going... his tendency is toward parasitism". The fact is undeniable that Filipinos change. Their views were poisoned, they forgotten their traditions, they change themselves for no good, their view of life seemed to reflect the exact opposite of their ancestors. Some Filipinos were sloth, greed, corrupt etc.. We can see them through the robbers in the street. Filipinos lose their faith and pay less attention to Religious Acts. Some beg for food, while others waste it. They lack the eagerness to survive, lose their abilities and skills to live and fit in the survival of the fittest. They lose everything, lose their lives, their possessions, specially their Values, that once were their most precious treasure. The act of Bravery turned to discouragement, the act of survival turned to living to die in the end, the rich treasures turned to dusts in the wind, and their values turned into sins.

> Some of the most notable changes in Filipinos Values

  • They Lost their Moral Values
  • They became Robbers
  • They Lose their Faith
  • They waste Food
  • They became Violent
  • They lack Love
  • They lack the eagerness to learn

Filipinos today are noted to lose everything they have before. In the present days people in the Philippines are used to have values that is similar to foreign countries. Most of the values specially in America are inherited by the new Filipinos. Today, it is common to hear words like divorce, drugs, murders, war, sickness etc. that truly damages the names of the Filipinos.

It is a realistic fact that needs to be considered and prevented because a frail citizen means a fallen nation. The Philippines today is now facing a very difficult problem to deal with and the only possible and effective solution to be done is Regeneration like Former President Quezon said.

For the nation to be well organized again several measures must be followed;

  • The Regeneration and Development of a Country must start from the Citizens itself
  • A proper Code of Conduct must be implemented
  • The President or any Authority shall made a plan for Regeneration
  • All must cooperate
  • Guidance of God
