The Mercya Formation is a geologic formation located within Miocene, Pliocene and Pleistocene-aged rocks located in Florida. The formation was formed about 15 - 2 million years ago, when a drought killed the entire population of animals unique to Mercya.
The Mercya Formation overlies the Yansur Formation, a 66 million year old formaton in Florida and parts of Alabama, rich in dinosaur fossils in Alabama. The Mezozoic rocks left behind in Florida have since eroded.
