The 2024 Dalian Young Boy F.C. season is the club's 3rd season.
Background
editPreviously in 2023, the team's major sponsor Dalian Shanhaihui group was accused of illegal fundraising, and no longer funded the team. In December 2023, the team was aqcuired by Dalian Tongshun Construction through a forced auction.
On 29 January 2024, the team announced its new name Dalian Young Boy F.C. (Chinese: 大连英博足球俱乐部). Originally, the supporters voted for Chinese name 大连青年/大连青年人, but a club with similar Chinese name already exists (Shenzhen Juniors F.C., 深圳青年人), so the transliteration from English was applied as the official Chinese name (Young Boy→英博). The team also switched its major color from red to blue.
The team signed with Yan Xiangchuang, Fei Yu, Lü Peng, Lü Zhuoyi, Wang Tengda and Huang Shan from the dissolved Dalian Pro, and reallocated Dalian-born players Shan Pengfei, Sui Weijie, Wang Shixin.
Following the dissolving of Dalian Professional, the municipal government took extra care on Dalian YB. A few meetings and forum concerning football in Dalian was held in February 2024.
