  • Wiki gotchas:
  • categorizing both dob/dod under births
  • not adding people names to List of people by name
  • not conforming to "_,_ (), _" format
  • Not checking for copy-vio before editing
  • Flubbing edit summary--it can't be taken back
  • Capitalization of units named after people not necessarily recognized and not addressed in W:MOS or archives--need to double-check this with other style guides for confirmation. (01:29, 20 February 2006 (UTC))
  • Interface bugs, inconvenient features, or clarifications:
  • typing <alt-+> causes the edit box to clear irreversibly, at least when editing the subject/body edit boxes on talk pages. I do this normally when entering special codes for alternate characters if the special HTML at the bottom of the browser are not unavailable or just to practice international character key combinations.
  • Just like in HTML, which wikiscript is an alternate representation of, script can't be parsed to define table cells that are farther down and to the right of another cell unless it is part of a single cell which spans the earlier one. I also found that, though intuitively, one might think that tables can be nested within each other without reinterpretation of their structure, this was not the case for curly bracketed blocks nested recursivly as cells. The notation made this tempting. Bracketed structures are not parsed hierarchically, rather all script is parsed as one would normally read it. -Onceler 23:07, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
  • To do (Things I want to give a few days but not longer ...):
  1. Done: second bullet of Talk:Ignacio Zuloaga#A couple of comments after recent edits
  2. Limbo: Wikipedia talk:Spanish Translation of the Week#Translated block quotes, now: Wikipedia talk:Translation into English#Translated block quotes -Onceler 02:29, 9 February 2006 (UTC) (Re: Georges Politzer italicized block quotes)
  • With no response, I just deitalicized the translated block quote and put the source text under it in italics after I saw another article do this, which I thought was the most open and effective way to respect the original text by leaving it most open to corrections and keeping with the spirit of italicized quotes since they denote "non-familiar" non-english usage; (15:47, 29 March 2006 (UTC))
  1. Open: Talk:Nitrogen_oxide#No Prompt NOx description -Onceler 03:56, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
  2. Closed: User_talk:Bruguiea#Merging References into External Links (19:26, 19 February 2006 (UTC))
  3. Limbo: User talk:Lunchboxhero/monobook.js, though I believe it is now my system that is the cause of problems. (?); ... which needs intensive install overhaul on my end ... (15:47, 29 March 2006 (UTC))
  4. Closed: User_talk:Anlace#noise pollution, regarding change of marine environment to occupational exposure.
  • I eventually made an edit which maintained the new content while recovering the old. No ostensible progress on the matter of principle but resolution for this instance. (15:47, 29 March 2006 (UTC))

  3. Open: was there another way to not show or not to proceed to a specified link? (20:59, 28 March 2006 (UTC)) ... ie to display a link to a picture without showing the picture within the page the link is in .... note: [[image:x|image:x]] and [[image:x|x]] do not have the desired effect.
