Zubie is a privately owned company, founded in 2014, providing a cloud based, connected-car platform and services for enterprises, business fleets and families with "at risk" drivers. The company aims to disrupt the telematics industry by delivering a low cost, plug an play, no contract, global positioning system (GPS) and vehicle tracking. [3]
The Zubie device plugs into the (OBDII) port located under the dashboard of a majority of vehicles made after 1996. The device includes a GPRS tracker, e-sim card with M2M data plan and multiple sensors such as accelerometer. Users sync it with a native app and/or a web site to monitor vehicle location in real time, report on vehicle health and maintenance and score driver performance. [4]
