Matthew Highton is a British stand-up comedian and oddity known for his surreal ramblings and unusual material.
Highton claims to be in possession of a fabled peacock plume which he liberated from actor Mickey Rourke. Feathers from the plume are rumoured to synthesise feelings of attraction within others, an allegory spawning as a modern retelling of the Tale of Eros and Psyche, though Highton swears it to be true. He also claims to be in possession of a fabled mushroom, a modern oracle that can predict the fate of individuals
In his 2010 show Incidental Combobulations, Highton claims to have saved the world from being sucked into a singularity caused by Tom Selleck’s moustache generating it’s own sense of gravity. In the show he also states he time travelled both to the 1920s and the Post Apocalyptic Future after being struck by an ice ball, hurled from a child in his home town of Oldham. This event gave birth to him inventing a scheme to help save education by creating a disciplinary figure Dirk Benocol, an invisible evil clown likened to Al from Quantum Leap. Though the claims are outlandish Highton assures they are true.
In 2010 Highton spent a month without his shadow after losing it whilst holidaying in Port Isaac. Though he recovered the shadow it developed agoraphobia and he can often he can be spotted with a rental.
