Rosemarie Mukarutabana (* born in Nyabihu, Nyaruguru District, Southern Rwanda) is a professional interpreter and translator. She is a member of the Rwanda Academy of Language and Culture. Privately Rosemarie carries out research and trains young Rwandans on Rwandan mythology, symbolism and philosophy.

Background and education

Rosemarie attended Lycee de Rwaza and the University of Rwanda. She also obtained a diploma in translation and interpretation from the Institut Nationale.

Career

She worked with the UNESCO Regional Office for Africa in Nairobi, Kenya, the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

As a freelance interpreter and translator she has worked with many organizations internationally, including several agencies of the United Nations, the African Union, national governments and Regional Economic Communities (RECs) including COMESA, PTA Bank, the East African Community, CPGL and ECOWAS.

She is a member of the Rwanda Academy of Language and Culture and Founder and CEO of ..., where she trains the youth on Rwandan mythology, symbolism and philosophy.
