- If an image is used in an article but the image page says that it's not used: Go to Special:ApiSandbox and select "purge" in the "Action" drop-down list. Click on the "forcelinkupdate" checkbox and type in the article title in the "titles" field. After that, click on "Make request" at the bottom of the page.
- You can use unicode characters to include strings with exclamation marks in tables.
!
will display as an exclamation mark, but will not be interpreted as part of the table layout, so use that character string instead of an exclamation mark. For example:
Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!
displays as Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! but breaks the table formattingHeadbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!
also displays as Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! but does not break the table formatting.

States requiring background checks for private sales
editEighteen states and the District of Columbia have laws requiring background checks for some or all firearm transfers by private parties. In some of these states, the sale must by done through a licensed gun dealer, the holder of a Federal Firearms License (FFL). In other states the buyer must obtain a permit from the state. In either case a background check is required. The following table summarizes these state laws.[1]
Background check by FFL required | State-issued permit required | |
---|---|---|
All firearms | California Colorado Connecticut Delaware District of Columbia New York Oregon Rhode Island Washington |
Hawaii Illinois Massachusetts New Jersey |
Handguns | Maryland Pennsylvania |
Iowa Michigan Nebraska North Carolina |
